An Amazing Apple Pie Makeover In Two Minutes

Is it possible to cut the calories of apple pie in half and have it still taste good? Well, when you are working with food as great as Apples anything is possible.

Apple Pie Makeover

The photo of my "Apple Pie Makeover" doesn't reveal how good this recipe tastes. Also, the speed of this recipe can make it an every day food for kids and adults.

All I used was an apple, a Graham Cracker, lemon, cinnamon, and a microwave to make this snack. If it is eaten when it is still warm, it really tastes like apple pie.

Of course, I am not talking about the 240 calorie per slice, butter in the crust, grandmother "made with love" pie. That is an incredible concoction and one that I would not try to replace with a microwaved snack. If it was served to me, I would just enjoy it!

But, the pie that you get at fast food places or supermarkets? Yes, you need to make those over with this snack. They are not heavenly - they are mostly gummy and filled with preservatives and flavoring agents that you don't need.

Your kids will love making this as an after school snack. The best part is crumbling the graham cracker into the bowl.

Add other things to this recipe like raisins or almond slices to make it more interesting. Cardamom and nutmeg would make great additions, too. Play with it and let me know how it goes.
