When It Heats Up Try This Simple Zero Calorie Drink

There is usually just one small step from ordinary to elegant. I know that sounds optimistic, but sometimes just a little change makes ALL the difference.

Cucumber Orange Water

For example, if someone puts a jar of fresh flowers on a plastic table - ordinary to elegant in one step! Or puts a ribbon on a chair, or brushes her hair (oh wait, that's me :)

Water is pretty ordinary. It is necessary for us to maintain life, but we prefer to drink stuff that has flavors. An entire beverage industry makes money off of the ordinariness of water.

Now, add slices of cucumber and orange to a pitcher of water. It is so incredibly simple, but it changes water into something elegant. Like Herbal Water (and much cheaper), the water gets infused with these lovely flavors.

The first time I experienced this orange cucumber water was at a spa. After you sat in the steam room, there was a table with pitchers of cold water with these slices in it. It was so refreshing! and, I felt so pampered.

Why it took me 4 years to attempt this on my own is a mystery. But, it is worth it. Get out your chopping board and make some YUMMY water.

Cucumber Orange Water Recipe

1 orange
1 cucumber

Thinly slice 6 slices of orange and cucumber and add to pitcher. Place in 6 cups water in pitcher. Chill and drink within 2 days.

How do you make your water delicious?

Well, that seems interesting...need to go buy some oranges! LOL

That is a fantastic idea!

Simple, yes. Elegant, yes. Try it, yes! I plan on looking for the prettiest pitcher I have and slice up a bit of cucumber and orange. Thanks.

I like to add fruit slices to my homemade sangria!

Er... right. Focus is on water. Whoops.

:) I like your idea- it definitely does jazz up a refreshing glass of water.

I just started putting fresh mint and lime in my water. Yummy like a mojito!

I too had cucumber water at a spa (lousy spa but nice water) thanks for reminding me!

Mine had lemon and cuke in it.

I like a slice of lime and lemon (alternately a squirt of each from the concentrate).

I'm a big fan of TrueLemon or TrueLime packets (haven't tried TrueOrange yet) for when I'm at work and real fruit slices are inconvenient.

True Orange is ok, but I just LOVE True Lime!

(Specially in a shot of Lime Vodka, YUM!!)

I tried watermelon and raspberry... yum!

I love this idea! I am a huge drinker of water with lemon slices but this takes it to a whole new level!

I tried this and it is wonderful! This is encouraging me to drink more water!

since reading this article - about a week ago - this has been my daily water...thanks for the easy tip!

A good idea! I should slice some lemons and add it to my water...limes could work...I really need to by some cucumbers too. It'll be a great refreshment for school too :)

Every day I pack my kids' lunch with a water bottle and put a lemon or lime wedge in it. They always end up drinking more water than plain.

Sounds good, will try. I have tried cinnamon sticks with apple slices in water. Also good.
