Top Ten Healthy Crunchy Snacks

Crunch is a good thing. So many processed foods are designed with a “mouth feel” of softness that lead to eating with out thinking.

With a CRUNCH you know your teeth are working and foods that have a crunch tend to have more fiber and fill you up. For example, I can sit and eat cheese all day with out noticing – carrot sticks on the other hand? I notice.

The obvious crunchy snacks are roasted nuts, carrots, celery, radishes, etc. Here are a few ideas that might not be as obvious.

1. Whole Roasted Cauliflower Roast The Whole Perfect Cauliflower

I have a deep love of Fritos which, having only corn, oil and salt in them are the most natural of chips--but I may need to try those homemade Doritos!

Sure, that stuff works for a little bit but it only gets you so far and then once you stop that diet you just gain it all back (and usually extra weight!). My boyfriend and I lost right around 115 pounds (between the 2 of us) in just under 3 months (http://wp.me/p5NIsT-k) and it's all about a life change. Starving yourself, doing cardio till you drop and popping diet pills don't work and it never will.

Trying the doritos for my 10 yr old. I usually by plain chips because the flavored ones have maltodextrin and ingredients I'm not familiar with like Caseinate and guanylate.

Great list! I love making kale chips as a snack too. I will definitely try your roast cauliflower recipe-- great way to use this vegetable.
