What should you get your friend or family member who is on the healthy path?

Top Ten Gifts For Healthy Eaters

A box of chocolates.

Actually, just send me a box of chocolates and get your buddies something that will support their efforts to cook, bake, chop, and flourish.

I tried to keep these in the “reasonable” price range because we all know how we can spend too much and end up in a hole after the holidays - but the prices are all over the place. I can attest to these being good value for your money. Hey, these things are useful.

1. It isn’t a sexy gift, but a cutting board that works is essential. You can put this one in the dishwasher.

2. Slice, chop, mince, dice, and go crazy with this knife. Yes, $40 is a lot of a knife, but if you are cooking healthy, you use it all the time.

3. I used my food processor at least 3 times per week. It saves me so much time and the pieces fit in the dishwasher. My Cuisinart is still working after 10 years.

4. If you like to bake but don’t like to clean up – take a look at these silicon baking mats. You don’t have to spray them or oil them and they are easy to clean.

5. For the donut lover, that needs to stop visiting Krispy Kreme. This pan makes convincing donuts.

6. Drink too much soda? You have got to get one of these Sodastream soda makers. You will save money and the environment by bubbling water from the tap.

7. Know someone who is trying to pack his hot lunch to take with him? Give him this awesome set that will keep his food hot anywhere he goes.

8. Give these cute lunch box containers for the cold lunch days.

9. Everyone is trying to can their own fruit or jam. Give one of these Home Canning Discovery Kits to a newbie.

10. If you are looking to splurge – buy one of these rice cookers. My white and brown rice is perfect every time and I don’t’ have to do anything to make it brilliant. It also cooks oatmeal.

Great ideas! I will have to look for the baking sheets and the rice cooker!

Great ideas! I will add that a gift card to a local grocery store with a great produce department is always a thoughtful & useful gift!

That cutting board is very sexy. Lol. I think a 1 years subscription to Prime from amazon is a great gift. Hope some one reads this. Thanks so much

my uncle says he only indulges twice a year (christmas and thanksgiving, although his chocolate chip cookies are around whenever i see him...) but he is a wine drinker. i got him a gift basket of 3 cabs! wine's good for you, right? (if you don't drink too much)

Do you work for amazon or is it just a coincidence

that you are promoting their products.....ie like a sales person.

@Katy - it goes day "Snack Girl receives a small percentage of sales from Amazon.com" at the bottom - that should answer your question.

A soda machine?? Seriously? Why would that be on your list for healthy eaters?

@Brenda - You can make your own sparkling water and then you drink it WITHOUT anything added OR you can add juice or soda flavoring to make it sweet. The idea is that you would add less sugar than regular soda - or simple a twist of lime. Thanks for your question.

@Katy - I am an affiliate of Amazon.com and do make some money if you buy through them AND I use them because it is easy to get the photos of the products that I like to show up in the post. I like the way it looks. I was trying to be a salesperson for the products themselves - you can get them anywhere.

Who really cares if snack girl works for Amazon or not what really matters is the great info she shares if you like the items she suggest buy it anywhere you choose.

People, stop being so negative! Lisa is just trying to share her finds.

Re: item #3 - my Cuisinart is still going strong after 36 years!!

I am adding the baking mats to my Christmas list. It seems like I could then give up using parchment paper. Thanks!

What about the microwave chipsmaker

GREAT ideas, Lisa! I like the vacuum lunch jar idea for my hubby who has everything! He can have SOUP instead of another boring sandwich for his work lunch. Also, my son loves soda, so I'm going to get him the Soda Stream Fountain, so I can control the evil sugar - a 'win-win' gift that I had not thought about! You're saving me TIME with these great ideas. Thanks :)

Thank you for including my EasyLunchboxes Lisa!

I especially like the kit for keeping foods hot! I don't currently have a way to heat items up at work so this is perfect.

And being in the fresh fruit and veggie biz I am happy to see a quality knife and cutting board on here as they are both ideal for inspiring regular produce consumption!

I couldn't wait for xmas, I went ahead and sent for the artisan baking mats. You couldn't beat the price and I wanted them for when I make my xmas cookies this year. Amazon as usual got them to me fast and I can't wait to try them. Thanks for the great idea.
