My Single Best Idea For Weight Loss

January 14, 2015   18 Comments

I have been writing, researching, and thinking about the best way to lose weight for a while now.

My conclusion is in the video above that I hope you take a couple minutes to watch it.

My fervor for continuing to pitch you Snack Girl to the Rescue! is that the feedback so far is excellent. Friends, neighbors, and people I have never met have told me that they are helped tremendously by this book – see Amazon reviews.

This book is a tool for NOW and because you have to buy it – you have some skin in the game. A purchase is a commitment to make a change.

Please share this video and your thoughts on your best ideas for losing weight.

Thanks for your question!

Create more videos! I like seeing your face and hearing your voice behind the blog. :)

Love your video! You look beautiful. You might also do a recipe on you tube? You made me smile this morning, thank you Lisa!

In 2012 I reached my weightloss plateau of 122 pounds, by eating healthy, low fat foods and by staying active. Now my new goals for health are maintaining this weightloss by choosing whole foods and staying active and being Happy😀. Your Video was wonderfully said!! I appreciate that you are on a normal, average, everyday woman's level of thinking and give ideas for eating foods and making dietary choices that are accessible to average people. I am definitely buying the book this weekend!! Thanks again and keep up the great work!

GREAT. I agree with everything you say about getting off the diet and deprivation cycle. Anyone still dieting should check out a recent TED talk called Why Dieting Usually Doesn't Work ...it's quite sobering and points straight to books like yours as a much better way to go to gain health and lose weight in the process.

Lisa, you're the BEST! Love the video - especially when you are smiling! I've found that writing down what I'm actually eating and learning about portion control are big helpers in weight loss. Love the book, love the blog!

I LOVE watching your videos. The last video I watched of yours resonated with me and I still think about it! Thank you.

You are the single smartest woman in this country i swear!! I share everything you write about with my entire family (in laws included) whether they want to hear it or not. The idea of gaining health is perfect. Losing anything is difficult..but we all love to gain. You have changed my outlook on life and i havent even cracked your book open yet. Thanks for everything you do. You are changing the way woman look think and feel. You are a true hero and i hope you know that.

Loved seeing you, Lisa! I've lost and gained the same 20 lbs. 3 times in 3 years and am sick of my "all or nothing" approach and being "good" or "bad" depending on the day. Ya feel me? I've been reading your blog for a long while now and ordered your book last week but am still waiting for it. Here's to a healthier mindset for me in 2015 and for all who fight this battle as well. Thanks for all you do, Lisa!

Hi, what a good idea this video is!! Nice way of looking at things. Also, you look wonderful. I appreciate your book and your site and your wonderful recipes.

I'll check out your book! :)

I lost a ton of weight on the old WW Momentum plan, and gained half of it back when they switched to points plus. Last week I dug out my old momentum stuff. I feel so good to be returning to that old plan again. It was the right thing for me to do -it feels like zero pressure, and easy, and I feel good about choosing to gain my health back. Love your blog!

First off, I love the video...I know you were worried about it but you look like you've been doing this for years! Second, I love your book...not only does it have great recipes that the whole family loves but it's easy to read and has great ideas!

I lost my weight on a high fat diet, high in saturated fats and monounsaturated fats. Whether you're someone that wants to eat high fat or high carb, the best thing you can do is cut out industrial processed foods containing refined carbs/sugars and/or seed oils. Those two items seem to be at the root cause of most modern health issues.

Great video! You are doing a super job. I like the idea of "quitting". It resonates with what I have been thinking for a while. I have your book and read the whole thing and even read some funny parts aloud to the family. The line about the "raisin" in the black bean burgers made us all laugh and still makes me laugh. I have been trying some of the recipes with a plan to try many more and have been roasting lots of veggies!

Oh my gosh what a GREAT idea....a cooking video! I H A T E to cook. So even though I'm 54 years old. I don't know how to cook that great. In order to get this 210 lb. body thinner I need to stop eating out and cook healthier. Having a video and "seeing" how to make a dish would just be awesome! That would help me out so much. You can "tell" me all day how to do something but for me "seeing" it is how I learn. I hate to put that much pressure on you......having my life, health, and happiness riding solely on your shoulders and your willingness to do this butttttt....it is all about me currently! lol Seriously that would be a cool thing to do :)

GAIN HEALTH!!!! I love it! I think the word "diet" has such a negative feel about it that people just think about what they CANNOT eat instead of what they will gain. It is amazing the impact of words have on our subconscious.

I also wanted to let you know I had a talk with my 7 yr old daughter Monday night about that nasty favorite of food manufacturers, HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP. I told her how it is a terrible thing to put into our bodies. Then I showed her the 3 things we have in the house that contain high fructose corn syrup & although those items have been offered to her, she has very politely turned down each offer. There was a recent report on our local news station that talked about how toxic high fructose corn syrup is, especially to women. I want my daughter to grow up with healthy options rather than having to make up for all the processed foods I consumed as a child & teenager.

Love your get healthier concept. I try to drink more water, eat more veggies & fruits, and move more.

I especially love the no bake brownie balls, the lemon coconut balls and the dried figs dipped in dark chocolate from your book. Yes I have a sweet tooth. Thanks for all you do, and I love your sense of humor.
