How To Make July 4th Special
December 1, 2020
Snack Girl knows you love having a day off from work and July Fourth is going to be awesome this year.
Three day weekend!!
For me, this weekend will be about my children running in the sprinkler, picnics, and fireworks. We eat a boatload of watermelon, corn, and tomatoes along with the usually hotdogs, hamburgers, and ice cream.
The “watermelon salad” photo above is an easy, popular dish. All you have to do is slice your watermelon about 1 inch thick and then push a star shaped cookie cutter into the melon. Add some blueberries and enjoy!
I found a bunch of other great ideas on P&G Everyday. The site has a bunch of recipes for July Fourth including a homemade corn dog recipe that could become a family favorite. You don’t deep fry the dogs (you bake them) so they can’t be as bad for you as when you buy them at the county fair.
Another of my favorites is a bunch of lemonade recipes. Making your own lemonade is super easy (except for the squeezing lemons part which will give you a work-out) and you can do all sorts of flavors. It tastes SO much better than packaged lemonade.
