Top 10 Grab and Go Healthy Breakfasts

August 26, 2014   6 Comments

It is THAT time of year again when we rev our engines and run out the door without our pants on.

Grab and Go Breakfasts

Okay, maybe that doesn’t happen to you – but it has happened to my seven year old. “Come back here! You forgot your pants.”

“Thanks, Mom!”

THIS is the year that I will win Mother of The Year (come on judges).

With some planning you can avoid the common crappy food pitfalls of Cocoa Puffs and breakfast bars with too much added sugar (I’m lookin’ at you Nutri-Grain).

I find that if I have something good ready to eat - I am more relaxed and less likely to be grumpy when everyone is trying to get out the door.

These breakfasts are for both your mental and physical health!

Most of these you can take with you on your way out, but some you eat with a spoon so they are not going to work when you have to drive.

Excited to see so many fall items popping up in the recipes again. :) Always looking forward to pumpkin season.

When I used to spend the summer with my grandmother, I would move like a snail in the morning, so my grandmother would literally take what would have been on my plate or bowl and would shove it in a pita or plastic Ziplock bag. lol

If it was cereal or something like that she'd give me a utensil and she give em a kiss and send me off!

I made some lean apple oatmeal muffins last year and they were SO YUMMY! I think I'm going to make more sometime this fall.

it is very hard for me to rush out and fix breakfast. I am gluten free recently, and am finding it quite hard for eating!

My favorite - and in my opinion the easiest - 'grab 'n' go' breakfast has protein & fiber, something savory & something sweet: Trader Joe's lite string cheese and a coupla seedless, easy-peel Clementines. =)

I only usually eat one of two breakfasts, scrambled eggs or oatmeal. I decided to pick several of these recipes to change things up a bit. This week was the grab n go breakfast bars. They were great! Easy to make and quite delish. Even the picky husband liked them. I'm not sure what I will pick for next week but thanks for the ideas!

Love your site and healthy alternatives. However, if I read or hear the word "yummy" again I'm going to scream. We are not three years old!
