There is one great perk to being Snack Girl: free chips. Of course, this isn't so great since I am trying to lose weight (see Challenge: Week 7). I DO love to try new things.

In case you didn't know, bloggers are not considered journalists. Journalists are not allowed to accept gifts (such as chips) and they have great resources such as editors and researchers (I would pretty much kill for an editor).

On every post where I have accepted a product, I put a disclaimer (see below). Sometimes I find great stuff that I want to share. Most times, I just don't mention the products that I don't like.

The crazy people at "Food Should Taste Good", sent me an entire CASE of chips. Yikes! And, I tried them all and shared with my neighbors.

Food Should Taste Good chips are made with the intention of being a healthy chip. I didn't really think that was possible, but these guys are doing something interesting. Especially when you consider their sodium content.

Doritos have about 210 mg of sodium per serving, and The Works (photographed here) have 120 mg. So you can have a chip with less the salt that still tastes great!

There is also 3 grams of fiber per serving, which is pretty good for a chip. Tostitos has two grams per serving.

Are these healthy? For a processed snack, I would say, these are pretty good! If they were 100% whole grain, they would hit the ball out of the park. I doubt that they could carry off their texture with a whole grain chip.

The great thing is that they taste REALLY good. Some of the flavors left me cold, but most of them were delicious. They have a chocolate chip which I shouldn't even mention. Also, I shouldn't tell them to add a hint of chile to that chip and you would have a best seller (and if you do that, don't tell me about it).

Since this is a gourmet chip, it is harder to find and more expensive than your Frito-Lay counterparts. They sell them at Amazon and Whole Foods.

If you are able to keep your portions in check, a difficult task with chips, Food Should Taste Good chips are a great choice when compared to other chips. Eat them with healthy stuff like Guacamole, Hummus, and salsa and you have a pretty sensational snack.

This product was received for review consideration. No other compensation was provided.

Have you tried "Food Should Taste Good" chips? What do you think of them?

We LOVE these in our house. They are nice and salty tasting, crunchy and not greasy. They are so tasty but, surprisingly, they also make it easy to say "Ok, that was enough". Good pick SnakGirl!

Snack Girl-
Tried the chips about a week ago and LOVED them. Bought the olive and sweet potato ones. Yummy. As you commented, much better for you than those salt laden chips that can increase your blood pressure.

Keep up the good works.

Make your own. whole wheat pitas cut into wedges. Sprinkle with olive oil and dried oregano,or other dried spice(onion powder/garlic not onion salt). Put on cookie sheet, spread out at 400-425 for 3-4 minutes. Watch carefully, turn halfway. Add salt to taste if needed. Serve with salsa.

As an added bonus, most, if not all, of their chips are gluten-free!

Mmm sounds yummy :D I enjoy the taste of chips far too much for my own good, heh. I'll have to give these ones a try.

P.S. I LOVE editing and have plenty of experience with it. Let me know if you need an editor!

I am in LOVE with the sweet potato chips. They had an amazing sale at our local ShopRite (NJ) and I got them for $1.33 a bag! They are definitely widely available around here. They are SO good!

I bought as many as I could with the coupons I had and hid them around the house so they'd last. We still have a few bags left!

What are your opinions on Quaker crunchy Corn Bran cereal? They look like Cap'n Crunch but i think it's quite healthy with a great texture and good taste!
